Nothing kills the imaginative spark of mental conception faster than arguing with God. I acknowledge that my artistic ability come from God. He is creative, therefore I am creative, but out of my frustration of not being able to create what I like, I told God that I didn’t like my style and I wanted Him to make it possible for me to have what was popular. I discussed my problem with a former art teacher and she told me that it was good my style was different. I was not happy with the BIG NO message I was getting.
He says in his love letter to me that I’m to be in the world, but not of the world. I am to trust him. Besides, one can’t really win arguments with God. He’s wiser than I am by far and gave me a talent to share his message of love with others by snail mail.
Prayer: Lord, help me accept and be content with the gift you have given me. Continue to supply me with creative ideas for cards so I can use them to encourage others. Amen!
Today’s Quote:
“Whenever I teach art workshops, one of the biggest challenges students face is the fear of art; that they can’t create, or things won’t be 'good enough.' Well, I’m here to tell you that not being good enough is a challenge for every artist, on every level. I invite you to put your fear aside, along with all of the negative things you have told yourself for so long, and begin to appreciate your own uniqueness in a new way. Much success in life is first believing you can do it, and then doing it.” ~ Susan Rios.
